Detailed program
Day 1 | Switzerland - Japan
Flight from Geneva or Zurich to Japan.
Day 2 | Tokyo
Arrival at Tokyo airport. Transfer by shuttle bus to downtown.
Day 3 | Tokyo
Full day of sightseeing with private English-speaking guide: Asakusa and Senso-ji, Tokyo's oldest temple, the Imperial Palace esplanade, the Emperor's current residence, Tokyo Tower, Meiji Shrine and Omotesando shopping street.
Day 4 | Tokyo
Day at leisure to explore the city at your leisure, or use your Japan Rail Pass to explore Tokyo's outskirts.
Day 5 | Tokyo - Hakone
Train to Hakone and free visit. Overnight in a ryokan, traditional Japanese accommodation with hot spring baths, and dinner.
Day 6 | Hakone - Kyoto
Departure by train for Kyoto and first discovery.
Day 7 | Kyoto
Today, your local English-speaking private guide will show you around the city: Kinkaku-ji Golden Pavilion, Ryoan-ji Buddhist temple, Nijo Castle, Kiyomizu-dera temple and Gion district.
Days 8 and 9 | Kyoto
Explore the city at your leisure, or set off to explore Nara's deer-guarded temples or Fushimi Inari and its vermilion porticoes.
Days 10 and 11 | Kyoto - Osaka
Transfer to Osaka, free time to explore the city and last night before the next day's flight
